Shanti Yoga Glasgow Teacher Training

Shanti Yoga Glasgow Teacher Training- India 2018-19

Shanti Yoga Glasgow is very excited to be running our Yoga Alliance certified 2018-19 Yoga Teacher Training in India.
3 weeks in Goa followed by 2 weekends of online & home study

At Shanti, we believe that it’s important that part of your training be immersive. We have picked some beautiful backdrops for your experience, both equally as stunning but unique in their own way. Your immersion time is the beginning of a life-changing journey into Yoga Teacher Training. Our courses are designed to allow you to take yourself away from the noise and stress of your everyday life, allowing yourself space and freedom to become completely absorbed in nothing but Yoga, Meditation & healthy eating. The peaceful settings are perfect places to focus on your Yoga practice and personal development, relax in into the sunrise and sunset meditation and chanting sessions. The aim is to finish the initial immersions abroad feeling physically, mentally and digitally detoxed whilst completing part of your 200 hours of teacher training.

Shanti Yoga invites you into a complete Teacher Training experience with Sasha who has created this schedule from a place of love and understanding of Yoga as a full lifestyle. This course will deepen your knowledge and challenge you into becoming a confident & unique Yoga teacher whilst at the same time, focussing on your personal growth. It really is a magical, intense, life-changing decision.

The Training: This Yoga Teacher training is perfect for anyone who would like to go deeper into their own practice. We will be exploring the History and Roots of Yoga and also be looking at how Yoga has evolved over more recent years. By the end of the course, you will feel confident to start creating your own sequences and to begin teaching. If you are planning on teaching, this course is just the beginning to get you started. There will be more hard-work in practicing after your teaching certificate and as a teacher, you are always continuing to develop yourself. You will need to continue practicing teaching and developingyour confidence and your own class sequencing after the course but this course will give you all the basics that you need, to then let your own practice and creativity take over.

Sasha has thoroughly thought through this TT, to inspire you and to bring out the best in who you are as a teacher and practitioner. We aim to give you a transformative experience so that you can then go on and spread the joy of Yoga, in your own individual style with others.  We also will give you the support that you need, to get yourself started on this wonderfully rewarding journey.

Groups are limited to 15 per training, therefore, you will be guaranteed plenty individual attention on this course. We have purposely chosen two options for TT this year, instead of 1 training with a large group as we feel it’s important to have a limit on 200-hour Teacher Training as in our experience, you will need it on your first TT. On the odd Glasgow weekend, there will is likely to be some of our India trainees adding on and vice versa but largely your groups will be small in comparison to most Teacher Training.

Sasha integrates her ethos from Shanti Yoga into her Teacher Training. At Shanti Yoga, we believe in Yoga as a healing therapy. Yes, you are going to get stronger and more flexible as a result of this training but we believe that all of the physical attributes of Yoga are merely by-products of what we are really trying to gain from our Yoga practice and our Yoga lifestyle. We, at Shanti, believe in improving our physical well-being through looking after ourselves physically, emotionally, mentally and energetically but above all else, we believe in Yoga as a healing therapy and as a practice that can really begin to reconnect you, back to your own true self. Yoga is a practice that can give you holistically, more contentment and happiness in your life. The happier we can become in ourselves, then the more we can radiate that outwards to others and into our communities.

The Yoga practice will give you a full balance of our interpretation of Energetic Vinyasa Flow and a more chilled-out Lunar Yoga Flow or Yin Yoga. Easier options are always given, not only for days when you are low on energy or for any injuries that you may have but also, so you can learn to teach multi-level classes. Having this knowledge and sensitivity will allow you to become a more understanding and flexible teacher. Sasha fully believes in the balancing power of blending Yin & Yang Yoga practices with Meditation, Mindfulness & Reflection, to give you a fully comprehensive training that will not only, give you a full energetic balance for yourself but will also give you insights into feeling and teaching different energies and wisdom. We will be using the healing therapies of sound and silence on our journey and there will be various other explorations to help you find your way as a unique teacher. It is through figuring out where your passion lies in Yoga, that you will figure out how and where you would like to practice and teach after the course.

About Sasha:Sasha has vast amounts of experience teaching Yoga for over 9 years now in Glasgow and around the world. She has single-handedly developed one of Glasgow’s most successful Yoga studios, therefore, will be able to guide each of you, into not only finding your own unique style as a Yoga Teacher but also in how to develop your business and retreats. She has a vast amount of Yoga knowledge passed down from all of her hugely influential teachers from around the world. She feels David Swenson, Godfrey Devereux, and her Tribe Yoga teachers have all had an influence on the teacher she has become. More recently, Sasha has been training with Shiva Rea whom Sasha now regards as her current primary guide and main teacher. We would really recommend if you haven’t met Sasha, to come and take one of her classes in the studio, before committing to the course. When picking a TT, it is important that you connect with your teacher and that you find the right course for you. Sasha also has a great deal of experience teaching Yoga as a therapeutic healing practice. She has worked with countless students through all sorts of injuries & ailments. She has trained with the Prison Phoenix trust and worked in depth with many adults and young offenders suffering from addiction, anxiety, depression and all sorts of mental and physical imbalance. Sasha is fully committed to sharing as much of her knowledge with her students as is relevant to all of your learning.

Guest Teachers:

As with all Yoga Alliance certified courses, the Senior Teacher (Sasha) will be teaching 70% of the course. The other 30% will be guest teachers that have been hand-picked as some of the best teachers in Glasgow and London, to help give you a variety of different styles and perspectives. The teachers all share a common school of thought, that Yoga is a whole way of life, that will not only enrich your life but also the rest of the world that we live. For India 2018-19, Prue Greentree from London, will be joining week 2, teaching Philosophy.
